Anti-circumvention policy

Sawa exists to protect both buyers and sellers. The protections we offer — refunds, dispute resolution, secure payments — only apply to orders that start and finish on Sawa. Off-platform handoffs put both sides at risk and are not allowed.

What's not allowed

  • Sharing or asking for phone numbers, emails, social media handles (WhatsApp, Instagram, Snapchat, Telegram, TikTok, etc.), or external links through chat or any other Sawa surface.
  • Moving the conversation or payment for an order off Sawa once it has been started or could be started here.
  • Using indirect tactics to share contact details (spelled-out digits, image attachments, code words) to bypass our moderation.

Why this matters

Buyer protection (refunds, dispute resolution) and seller protection (escrow, verified orders) only work when the order completes on Sawa. Off-platform deals leave you with no recourse if something goes wrong.

Consequences

We monitor messages for circumvention attempts. Depending on severity and history, violations may lead to:

  • A warning shown in chat after the moderation system redacts contact details.
  • Temporary suspension of your ability to send messages, place orders, or list gigs.
  • Permanent ban of your account, with associated gigs removed and reviews from suspended accounts hidden.

We may also report fraudulent activity to local authorities where applicable.
