Why part of my message was hidden
Last updated: 23 October 2026
Sawa replaces contact details in messages with [hidden]. It applies to everyone, in both directions, and it is automatic — no human read your message and no one has accused you of anything.
What gets hidden
Email addresses, phone numbers, website links, bare domain names and social handles. The same rule applies to request and proposal text, where it blocks the post rather than editing it.
Why
An order that moves off Sawa loses its payment protection, its dispute resolution and its record — and the person who suggested moving it is usually the one who benefits. Removing the contact channel before it arrives is the only version of this control that works, so it runs on every message as it is sent.
It is sometimes wrong, and we know it
The rule that catches phone numbers looks for long runs of digits, and a date written as 12/05/2026 looks exactly like one. So dates, invoice numbers, dimensions and version numbers are occasionally hidden too. This is a known fault on our side, not a warning about your message.
If it happens, rewrite the number in words, or split it up. Nothing is recorded against your account.
Legitimate files are fine
Hiding applies to the text of a message. Sending files, images and voice notes through the chat works normally, and sharing deliverables that way is exactly what it is for.
